Stambush Staffing Sponsors Both PT and OT Conventions in the Last Two Weeks
Just so you all know that we are supporting your professions, your Stambush Staffing was an Exhibitor at the TPTA Convention in San Antonio two weeks ago, and we were an Exhibitor at the TOTA Convention in Austin this past weekend. Yes, we plan on attending the TISHA Convention when it comes to the Dallas area.
Who was NOT supporting your profession? We did not see, nor could we find any evidence suggesting, that Supplemental was exhibiting or supporting either the PT or OT profession. If anybody knows anything different, I’d be happy to hear about it. It is possible that I missed something.
Ahead of the Pack, Yes. Leader of the Pack, No!
A therapist who told me he/she has shopped around town with the “other” staffing agencies recently told me that Stambush was ahead of the pack. Well, I guess we all know that is true, but are we the leader of the pack? I don’t think so. I say this because the pack does not seem to be willing and/or capable of following us at all. Here are some examples:
We are not a puppy mill and we never have been. However, it seems that all the other staffing agencies are so hungry for profiteering off of the inexperienced new graduates that nothing or no one can stop them, not even disapproving customers, professors, or other leaders in the therapy community.
We competency test all of our applicants, yet no one else does. Oh yeah, I did hear of one staffing agency that gives a competency test to its applicants, but they also give the answers at the same time. Am I missing something here? Is it still a test if the answers come with it? Has the staffing world gone that crazy (except us of course)?
We do everything we can to do what we say we will do. For instance, if we commit to a facility and say that a therapist will be there on a certain day, we will not cancel just because a better, longer term, or higher paying opportunity comes along. Yes, our integrity helps put us ahead of the pack, but from what I hear we are not the leader of the pack on this issue either. We are more like the Lone Ranger.
In sum, after 23 years of doing business in a responsible, diligent, and honest manner, we are widely recognized as the best agency, or, in other words, ahead of the pack. However, I am afraid no one can really call us much of a leader because our way of doing business seems to be Stambush-specific.
Finally, thank you for giving us the power to do things right. Without you all and our customers, the staffing world in Houston would be a scary thought (IMHO).
Personality
In continuing with the 25 characteristics of a pleasing personality from “Napoleon Hill’s Keys to Success”, here are 11-15. I hope this is helpful and interesting to you all. I know in many ways I am preaching to the choir, but a good personality is so essential to contract that I don’t want to leave any stone unturned.
11. The Appropriate Use of Words – People who achieve success do so by careful and attentive effort. Your use of language must reflect this quality just as astutely as any marketing plan.
12. Effective Speech - Combining frankness, word choice, and other aspects of a pleasing personality will make you a powerful communicator able to speak with conviction and persuasion….
13. Emotional Control – Much of what we do is directed by our feelings. Since our feelings can lift us to great achievements or hurl us down to defeat, we owe it to ourselves to understand and control them.
14. Alertness of Interest – You must be able to fix your interest on any person, place, or thing and hold it there for as long as the situation requires. If you cannot, the other aspects of your attractive personality will be useless….Listening well is an even greater accomplishment than speaking well.
15. Versatility – No matter how much you know about the field of your endeavor, unless you can display a general interest in the world at large, no one is going to find you attractive. Keep yourself aquainted with the issues of the day, and maintain a few pursuits other than your business…you will be better able to understand others, and they will appreciate you more for it.
